Beth has volunteered to take part in a mission trip in April with the Fawcett family to the Casa Hogar project in Honduras.
The possible projects (yet to be agreed) that she may be involved with are:
· Building projects e.g. the orphanage or housing community
· The feeding program / malnutrition clinic
· Visiting families within the program of the support groups
· Delivering food and clothing supplies to poor communities
· Evangelising within Choluteca and the surrounding areas.
Beth writes, "
Most importantly I need your prayers before, during and after the mission trip. I am required to cover my own costs of the mission trip (approximately £1500) and have set myself a minimum target of raising £2000 which will also allow me to support the project itself. In order to achieve this, I will be organising some fundraising events which I hope and pray you will support." Coming soon will be Bun and Cake Sales after Church Services, Clothing and Accessory Exchange, and a Family Fun Day including Dance Marathon! Next week we'll be selling buns after the service, so please bring some cash!Further events may be arranged, so keep listening to the notices and reading the notice boards so that we can support Beth on what will be a life-changing experience.
Sleep Easy - Supporting The Homeless

Jerome now works for the YMCA and is looking for volunteers to either be sponsored to sleep rough or to be marshals for the event at St.Aidan’s.
Adult volunteers will be sleeping rough down the outside of our church and the marshals are needed on a rota to keep an eye on the sleepers!
The event will start on the Friday at 6.30pm and end on the Saturday at 6.30am. Marshals are being asked to sign up to cover a two hour period—please sign up if you can help.

Peru fair trade, Tracey Ingram’s contacts in Peru;
Three ‘home’ charities:

Hull Youth for Christ [working with children and families in Hull]
Label of Love [working in Hull schools]
and the two ‘One off’ charities for this year were City Life Church for the Homeless work, and The Ark.

The Money Course
The Wednesday house groups are coming together to run ‘The Money Course’. This will be delivered by Mel Whetton & Liz Fryer and you are all invited to join us, even if you are not in a group at the moment.
The course is designed to help folk::
Explore attitudes to money;
Look again at first principles;
Getting on top of finances;
Create a budget;
Resisting the pressures;
Examine credit & debt;
Take a fresh look at saving;
Learn why giving matters.
This course is not about prying into your private finances or telling you how to run your life and you won’t be asked to reveal anything you don’t want to. It WILL help you with your own finances and make you more able to offer advice to friends or family.
The Money Course will run over 4 weeks in The Café and starts at 7.30pm with a pudding. [18th, 25th Jan & 1st, 8th Feb] This will allow the small groups to meet on the 11th Jan so starting together in their usual venues and they can remain in groups for any discussions on the course. Small groups will then meet in their usual venues for this years LENT COURSE. This begins with a service on Ash Wednesday the 22nd Feb [half-term!]
